Kelly Elaine Patterson was born in the Washington Hospital in Washington, Pennsylvania on August 31, 1970.  She died in Salmon, Idaho on October 26, 1987.  Kellie's life ended on a mountainside in Salmon, Idaho.  To this day no-one knows for sure how the tragic event occurred.  They can only imagne and speculate at how she came to be discovered laying dead with her head resting on a rock in a cold mountain stream.  She now has the warmth of her Heavenly Father to watch out for her and keep her from harms way.  Although Kelly had been taken from us twice now we know she is Safe with God in Eternal Peace. 

I as her mother, her brother, nor her maternal or paternal grandparents were informed of her death at the time she died.  We were not notified until December 21, 1987 when an obituary that was mailed to Pennsylvania from California arrived at my house.  We were not able to attend Kelly's services because we were not notified of her death until about two months later. We did hold a beautiful service for Kelly at our church in Pennsylvania. 

I would sincerely like to express my appreciation to Mr. Obed Burdette from Louisville, Kentucky.  Mr. Burdette found my daughter and stayed with her until she could be removed from her place of death.  I have spoken to him several times and words cannot express my appreciation for knowing someone was close by Kelly that cared as much as he did.  He told me he went back to Kentucky and was so moved by this event he put his guns away and would never be able to go hunting again. 

I want to sincerely thank Bob Ulshafer, Doug Casey and the Sheriff's Department all of Salmon, Idaho for their understanding, cooperation & efforts concerning Kelly.  In a time of despair it gives one a warm feeling to know Kelly was surrounded by people that truly cared.

A treasured yesterday you were to me. So let the memory remain unchanged.  A memory of youth and innocence......I love you Kelly...
